Do you have weak shoulders? I don’t care if you can shoulder press 100kg, you may still be weak…and also prone to injury. This shoulder ‘dislocate’ exercise is the most useful prehab tool for your shoulders. Having full mobility in your scapula to allow them to move around the rib cage is crucial for healthy shoulders. Start with your hands wide on the bar and very low/no weight. Arms must remain locked out and maintain a full grip on the bar. As you move through the top position push the bar as high as possible whilst pulling your rib cage down. Control the movement through the whole range. Make the exercise harder by bringing your hands closer together/increase the weight.
