Bone broth in 30 seconds.

December 8, 2016

the recipe is easy; a couple of (free range organic) chicken carcasses, a few carrots, onions and celery and a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Cover with filtered water and then leave on low for around 12 hours. Not only does it leave your house smelling amazing, and tastes awesome it has huge health benefits. If you drink protein shakes you understand that it’s important to supplement your muscle for ‘gains’. 🏋🏽 💪 Your muscle is only part of a chain of tissue that creates movement or strength. Your connective tissue, fascia, ligaments, tendons and bone are all living tissues that need support to grow and become strong. Bone broth supplements these other tissues as it contains collagen, minerals and gelatin. Our foods are generally really low in all these important compounds…unlike protein, of which most people get plenty (did you know over consumption of protein results in your body converting it to sugar…for an 85kg person any more than a 250g steak a day is too much let alone if you are throwing down protein shakes on top of normal food). I drink bone broth most days…it’s particularly good boiled up with some chopped kale, salt and pepper..once kale is cooked poach a couple of eggs in the broth. 🍵 If you are feeling adventurous you can add some chicken feet, pigs trotters, or roasted beef bones in the mix too.
