How often do you touch the ground? Loading the upper body with hands on the ground is a human movement many of us miss these days. The result is weak, poorly stabilised, incorrectly positioned shoulders and this can lead to a who list of injuries and problems with the musculoskeletal system.
I.T. workers in particular can benefit from getting down on the ground. I teach crawling patterns to create good scapular control. This prevents the headaches and neck problems associated with I.T. work.
I’m also seeing lots of people from the gym who injure their wrists performing body building style training. Now for those of you that know me you’ll know what I think of machine weights, but if you are going to use them you need to prepare your body. By doing some exercises with load bearing through the hands we can protect the body against many injuries. Come and do a mobility session with me and you will learn how to prehabilitate your body so it is strong enough to train hard.
